Safety tips for hot days of summer

  1. Check on the elderly, neighbors, family and pets daily.
  2. Frequently drink water before, during and after outdoor activities.
  3. Minimize time spent outside and take frequent breaks to cool off.
  4. Plan laborious outdoor tasks for the cooler parts of the day.
  5. Move to a cooler environment at the first signs of heat illness which include; headache, dizziness, nausea, muscle twitching/cramps and dry, hot, flushed skin. CALL 911 FOR HEAT RELATED EMERGENCIES.
  6. Never leave a child or pet in a vehicle unattended.
  7. Make certain pets have plenty of water and shade.
